Thursday Evening Bible Study

The 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings each month in 2008 Brian Wilson will lead a study called Walking with the Savior, reading F. LaGard Smith’s book The Daily Bible 30 Days with Jesus. The book combines the Gospel accounts in a single chronological story. The good news about Christ, along with devotional reflections, shows how Jesus modeled his life and bring practical applications that can energize your walk with Jesus. If interested please contact Brian to order a book for you. The studies are from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at ABC.

Box Tops for Education

Eliot Middle School is participating in the Box Tops for Education program. We can assist Eliot by saving box tops from selected products. Please see information on the box in the lobby or contact Ron Dailey.

Altadena Food Pantry: The last Saturday of each month Community Life Fellowship participates along with Altadena Baptist Church in distributing food to the needy. The location is just a couple of blocks from where we meet for worship. The time is from 9:45 a.m. until about noon. Please consider being involved in this outreach service. If you could help, please see Brian Wilson.

The food pantry also needs the following four items: peanut butter, jelly, juice, and cereal. If you would be willing to help you may bring the donations to the Saturday evening service and they will be delivered to the food pantry. Thank you for supporting those in need.

Message: Believe and Be Transformed

Speaker: Dan Kale

Worship Team: Higher Ground Worship Team

God wills we grow in grace and knowledge and become more like Him, but he doesn't force us to knock on the door or ask for more of His presence in our life. Time and again, God shows us he has already acted on our behalf and is ready to reveal himself more deeply, but we must believe. When we believe, we are transformed, and through the move of His Holy Spirit, God reveals His glory. Luke 1, John 11:40.

Pride, Humility, Communion and Renewal

~ Eric Shaw

As Jesus has his last meal with the Twelve and lovingly washes their feet, serving them in the most humble way, what happens? Pride wells up and the disciples get into an argument about who is going to be the greatest in the kingdom. Jesus explains to them what true greatness really is, serving one another in humility. How many relationships are destroyed by pride? Can our relationship with Jesus be destroyed by pride? Communion is about relationship with Jesus. Renewal is about relationship with Jesus. (Isaiah 66:2; James 4:10; Luke 22:24-30)

Prayer for Worship Services

Saturdays 3:30pm in the room below the sanctuary.

Saturday Bible Study

Join Richard Lane from 4:45 to 5:45 pm and read through books of the New Testament. Learn to read the Bible for its true meaning - thinking through what is being said, to whom, and for what purpose. Even if you are not able to come every week, come as often as you can. Future studies will be in the bungalow next to the Sanctuary at ABC.
