Holy Desire: The Friendship
of the Lord

In Psalm 25 the writer of the psalm paints a brilliant picture
of the God he trusts. This God emanates goodness, steadfast
love, faithfulness, compassion, mercy, and more. The writer
begins by saying, “I lift up my soul to you.”
“In you I trust.” A trusting relationship as described
here can only be built by cultivation over time. This may
seem unusual in the context of how we live in today’s
culture. But then, when was walking with Jesus not unusual?
