Worship in Community

When God delivered Israel from Egypt, he did not just set
them free from slavery; he restored them to his original purpose
for them as a nation. This was largely accomplished as Israel
worshipped God over many years. Likewise, as the church today
enters into God’s presence to worship him as a community,
he brings a gradual restoration of his purposes in our lives
– undoing the damage caused by fallenness and sin, while
increasing our light in a dark world. When we regularly come
together as a community to worship God, each person’s
gifts join with God’s Word and Spirit to help build
up the entire church in a way that is not possible if we worship
alone.
