Palm Sunday - A Triumphal
Entry
~
Pat
Shaw
It was an ordinary day—well, ordinary
in that what was happening had happened for years upon years.
The Jews were getting ready for their Spring Passover season.
Everyone was headed into Jerusalem to celebrate, to sacrifice,
to feast with friends and family – it was party time!
Jesus and the disciples had walked this road many times going
into Jerusalem, but this time Jesus wanted to make a point
and he wanted them (and us) to take notice. Here he comes
into Jerusalem riding a donkey! and weeping! And then he
makes sure it is recorded in all four Gospels. See Matt.
21:1-11; Mark 11:1-10; Luke 19:29-38; John 12:12-16. What
are some things we can glean from these accounts that touch
us today?
