The Holy Spirit
and Ministry

As Jesus taught and prayed for the disciples
before the crucifixion, he mentioned the Holy Spirit often. “I
will ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate,
to be with your forever. This is the Spirit of truth, . .
. (John 14:16-17a). “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything,
and remind you of all that I have said to you” (26). “When
the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify
on my behalf” (15:26). On the day of Pentecost, when
the Holy Spirit came, powerful ministry broke out all over.
These people became “Contagious Christians” in
the greatest sense. How can we rely more fully on the power
of the Spirit sent by the Father in the name of Jesus?
