| The Holy Spirit
and the Life of the Church
Eric
Shaw
On the Day of Pentecost the church was birthed
with great power. The Holy Spirit empowered Peter’s
preaching, hearts were convicted, and lives were changed.
The love of Jesus began to spread throughout the family of
new believers as they shared and supported one another. Miracles
punctuated the move of God that established the foundation
of the church. People were attracted to the new band of believers
because of what they saw happening as the Spirit moved among
the people. We see this theme continue as the New Testament
church grows. In Ephesians 1:15-23 Paul prays for this power
to continue in all of us. How does this happen in our lives
today?
