Intimacy with God transforms our hearts to be receptive
to God’s call to minister to other people. 1 John 3:16
tells us, “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ
laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives
for others.”
The two great commandments are characterized by love for
God and love for people. As we live a deeper relationship
with God, we will find that our relationships with people
also take on new meaning.
We need to grasp that our love for God is expressed in the
way we love people. It is not expressed as a “lone ranger”
way of life. It is lived out in relationships.
