Gifted for Works of Service

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be
prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and
teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up. From him the whole
body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament,
grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its
work” (Ephesians 4:11-12a; 16).
Jesus gave gifts to all Christians so that they may do works
of service from the heart. When we allow our faith to flow
from our hearts through works of love, we experience the joy,
purpose, satisfaction, and fruitful ministry that God intends
for our lives.
