What
Are You Looking At? Exploring the Biblical Relationship
Between Sight and the Christian Experience
~ Katherine
Carter
When we experience difficult times in life,
we can spend hours, days and weeks trying to examine the
situation and come up with a solution. We run ourselves ragged
analyzing our thoughts, our actions, actions of others, our
choices, and the potential outcomes of those choices. But
all this hard work trying to navigate rough waters often
leaves us frustrated and exhausted. Is this the way God meant
for us to deal with life's challenges? Doesn't he see how
tired we get from all of this?
God does see. His eyes are focused on us and He cares for
us deeply. But, where are our eyes focused? The Bible suggests
that where we look and who we focus on profoundly affects
how we experience our lives and where we go in times of difficulty.
Peter's experience of walking on the waves is just one example.
Join us as we explore God's word to better understand the
relationship between what we are looking at and how we live.
(Matthew 14:22-31)
