I’ve Got Friends
in Low Places
~
Charles Albrecht
Imprisonment and jail time, beatings, house arrest or an
armed guard companion at all times; none of these sound like
components of contentment. Yet, the Apostle Paul tells the
church in Philippi that he is content and goes on to thank
them for being a source of joy and encouragement. How was
it possible for Paul to be content in spite of all the ‘physical
struggles,’ and, like those in Philippi, how can we
be a part of encouraging that sense of being?
Philippians 1:3-6: I thank my God every time I remember
you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with
joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first
day until now, being confident of this, that he who began
a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the
day of Christ Jesus. (NIV)
