Walking
in the Light – Making a Fresh Commitment to Jesus

Light is important. Plants cannot grow without it. We cannot
see where we are going without it. Jesus is referred to as
Light coming into the world and if we walk with him we do
not walk in darkness. To be in the light we have to be in
a certain place of relationship. If we get too far away from
physical light we cannot see. So we have to either stay where
the light is or take the light with us. Spiritually too,
we must either stay close or take the Light with us in the
reference of the Word and Spirit. Both steps are part of
our relationship with Jesus. And states 1 John 1:7, “If
we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, . . . .” We fellowship
in light. Just as plants must be in the light to grow, so
too must we be in the Light to grow spiritually. (1 John
1:1-10).
