| In the Name
of Jesus
~ Richard Lane
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus instructs his followers to
pray "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as
it is in heaven."
Why does God want his people to pray for his will to be done?
Isn't he going to do his will regardless of our prayers? The
answer is that while God is sovereign, he has chosen his people
to be his representatives and administrators of the Kingdom
of God on earth, and the primary way he chooses to accomplish
his purposes is through his people as they invoke the name
of Jesus in prayer.
